Middle School Intern- Female

Provide leadership to Middle School Ministry (The Spot) through supporting the Middle School Pastor and ministering to the students and volunteers of the ministry, helping them to connect, grow, and reach

 

25 Hours- $12/HR

QUALIFICATIONS
-A growing relationship with Jesus Christ

-A life above reproach and consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1-7

-Demonstrate strong relational skills: team player, hospitable, compassionate, loving, gracious, truthful

-Demonstrate proficient communication skills, both written and oral

-Demonstrate proficiency in computer and technology use: Google drives, docs, sheets, Word, Excel

-Demonstrate teachability; is a self-starter and problem solver

-Completed or actively pursuing appropriate education (bachelor’s degree or greater biblical knowledge)

 

CONDITIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
-Have modeled and will maintain a biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle, both public, personal, online

-Available for identified work schedule

-Agree to submit and uphold  bylaws and doctrinal statement; advocate and align ministry to purpose and vision statements

-Adhere to guidelines stated in Employee Handbook

-Become a member of Calvary Church

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-Support the vision and leadership of Calvary Church

-Provide support to the Middle School Pastor in giving vision and leadership for the direction of the ministry

-Coordinate with Middle School Pastor and team in organizing and leading weekly youth group programs on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, monthly activities and trips. Help develop program and background aspects of the service, while training students to do the same

-Take initiative and ownership of projects and responsibilities.

-Responsible for assimilating and shepherding the Middle School students, with an emphasis on female students. Intentionally meet with several students each week outside of normal programing. Relentlessly pursuing all girls, whether they’re plugged in, on the fringe, or MIA

-Assist the development of curriculum for Middle School Ministry while considering scope and sequence. Teach/Preach in the Middle School group 1-2 times each month to intentionally develop the gift of communication.  Pursue growth in preaching by reviewing sermons and messages with Middle School Pastor and/or mentors before and after

-Partner with Middle School Pastor in caring for and developing volunteer staff and help onboard volunteers through the Leadership Pipeline.  Encourage female leaders through intentional and consistent communication (cards, texts, emails, etc.). Connect with each female leaders during program and meet with 1 or 2 female leaders each week

-Develop a healthy partnership with parents through communication and face-to-face interactions.  Offer guidance, encouragement, and counseling as needed.  Mobilize parents to serve and support the ministry

-Visit local middle school campuses to speak and lead at Christian clubs and chapels

-Engage in time-management to accomplish responsibilities and maintain a healthy balance in life. Regularly communicate needs and ministry progress with Middle School Pastor and mentors

-Help oversee transitions from Children’s Ministry (Fuel) in to Middle School Ministry and Middle School Ministry into High School Ministry (HSM)

Summer Intern –

We are a thriving church based in Athens, TX that offers one of the most exciting
summer internship programs in East Texas! We strive for gender balance in our intern
program with 2 males and 2 females

Our Church: First Baptist Church Athens is a multicultural, multi-generational, and
missional church dedicated to our community!

 Our Internship begins with an awesome and unique trip just for interns, and it ends
with the Global Leadership Summit.
 We believe in our biblical motto, Love God, Live Like Jesus, and Serve Others.
The Position: We’re looking for Summer Interns. The position is paid weekly for a total
of $2,196 for the summer.
 We offer free housing.
 We also offer a week vacation. (unpaid)

Length of Position: The position begins Sunday, May 20th and ends Sunday, August
12th.

The Location: First Baptist Athens is located in Athens, TX. This is a great place to live
because, you get the benefits of being in a small town, while also being a short distance
from great cities such as Dallas and Tyler. Fun Fact! Athens is also birthplace of the
hamburger!!!
