Kennewick First Presbyterian Church (KFPC) is seeking a creative, passionate, and spiritually maturing person to continue to develop and lead a sustainable youth & young adult ministry. Our goal is to equip youth & young adults to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ who participate in Christ’s mission in the Tri Cities and throughout the world. Depending upon the interests and gifts of the director, this person may also serve as the praise band leader for our contemporary worship service.
Youth and Young Adult Ministry responsibilities include, but are not limited to, weekend and mid-week ministry, volunteer recruitment and development, youth & young adult outreach, seasonal camps & retreats, confirmation, and mission trips & projects.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree by Fall 2017, with a degree in a related field preferred. Previous experience working with youth in a congregational setting is preferred, and a solid understanding of Reformed/Presbyterian theology is desirable.
Someone who has a deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for youth/young adult outreach, and who possesses strong interpersonal skills, organizational/administrative competency, and the ability to collaborate with staff and volunteers of various ages and backgrounds would be a great fit for KFPC.
Interested individuals may send a current resume with references along with a cover letter and brief statement of faith to Rev. Ashley Birk at firstname.lastname@example.org. For the complete job description, please see our website: http://kfpc.org/about-us/employment-opportunities/
About Kennewick First Presbyterian Church
Kennewick First Presbyterian Church (KFPC) is located in the "Tri Cities" metropolitan area of southeastern Washington State, in the middle of Washington's wine valley. We are a family-friendly, inter-generational PCUSA congregation that recently called a new senior pastor and is experiencing an exciting time of transition. While we would prefer someone with previous full-time ministry experience, we are open to placing someone in their first full-time youth ministry position, and we have a positive staff environment with plenty of opportunities for growth.
Our vision: Daily becoming the heart and hands of Jesus Christ. We are a Christ-centered community, welcoming all and reaching out to those in need. Ignited and led by the Holy Spirit, we are transformed and empowered to take the Father's message of love and hope to our neighbor's everywhere.
