St. John’s Church is seeking a full-time NextGen Pastor to oversee ministry to multiple age groups from birth through high school within our growing mid-sized church and the broader community.
This person will work with the lead pastor, staff and strong volunteer teams as a leader of leaders to expand our ministry to all ages, with a primary emphasis on discipleship and equipping the next generation. Initial goals in the position will include:
– Spending a significant amount of time developing and leading a sustainable children’s ministry, encompassing all aspects of Sunday morning programming (based on the Orange strategy, whatisorange.com), volunteer recruitment, training, and creating an engaging environment where kids love to learn and grow in their faith.
– Work alongside our existing team of volunteers to provide leadership to our active and growing Wednesday evening youth ministry (6-12th grade).
– Serve as part of the pastoral team, working to incorporate all ages in as many aspects of the church as possible. This will include providing direction, vision and leadership to various areas of ministry, pastoral care to families with children, outreach, and other responsibilities as needed.
The successful candidate will have strong relational skills, administration and coordination, a passion to equip others, a calling to disciple children and adults in a multigenerational church, and an excitement about being part of a larger team working together toward common goals.
